Cultura Creative Ltd is committed to conducting its business ethically and responsibly and to respecting human rights throughout our operations and supply chains.
We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, bonded labour, child labour or any other form of exploitation. We expect the same standards from the suppliers, production partners, contractors and other organisations with whom we work.
Our Business
Cultura Creative Ltd is a UK-registered company (Company No. 13227174) based in Sheffield, specialising in inclusive creative content production, premium visual licensing and ethically sourced datasets for artificial intelligence and machine learning.
We work with clients, production partners, photographers, filmmakers, models, contributors, researchers and other suppliers in the UK and internationally.
As our business and international production activities grow, we recognise the importance of maintaining clear and consistent ethical standards throughout our operations and supply chain.
Our Principles
Cultura Creative is committed to ensuring that:
- all employment and participation in our productions is freely chosen;
- team members, contractors, models and contributors are treated fairly and with dignity and respect;
- individuals engaged directly by Cultura are paid fairly and in accordance with applicable laws and agreed terms;
- no forced, bonded, compulsory or involuntary labour is used;
- no child labour or unlawful exploitation is permitted;
- contributors participating in our creative productions and AI dataset projects provide appropriate informed consent and releases;
- working environments under our control are safe, respectful and free from harassment, discrimination and exploitation; and
- we do not knowingly work with organisations or individuals involved in modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitative labour practices.
Our Supply Chain and Due Diligence
Our supply chain may include photographers, filmmakers, production companies, casting and modelling services, locations, studios, equipment providers, technology suppliers, researchers, data and post-production services and other creative and professional partners.
We take a proportionate, risk-based approach to due diligence, taking into account factors including the nature of the work, location, supplier and production circumstances.
Where appropriate, we may:
- seek confirmation that suppliers and partners comply with applicable employment, labour and modern slavery legislation;
- include appropriate ethical and compliance obligations within contracts and supplier agreements;
- review working practices where we identify an increased risk of exploitation;
- require appropriate contributor permissions, releases and consent documentation; and
- decline to work with, or terminate relationships with, suppliers or partners where serious ethical or compliance concerns cannot be satisfactorily resolved.
We recognise that particular care may be required when commissioning or producing content internationally and when working with larger numbers of contributors for AI and machine-learning datasets.
Ethical AI Dataset Production
Our commitment to ethical sourcing extends specifically to the creation of datasets for artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Where Cultura commissions or produces datasets involving identifiable people, we are committed to transparent participation, appropriate consent and releases, fair treatment of contributors and clear understanding of the intended nature of the project.
We believe that responsible AI begins with responsible sourcing of the people, content and data used to build it.
Training and Awareness
Relevant members of our team are expected to understand Cultura's ethical standards and to raise concerns where they identify potentially exploitative or inappropriate working practices.
As the company grows and enters new markets and production environments, we will continue to review our procedures and strengthen awareness of modern slavery and human-rights risks within creative production and AI data sourcing.
Raising Concerns
We encourage team members, contributors, contractors, suppliers and other partners to raise any concerns about suspected modern slavery, human trafficking, exploitation or unethical working practices connected with Cultura Creative or its supply chain.
Concerns may be reported confidentially to info@culturacreative.com.
We will take concerns seriously and investigate them appropriately. No individual raising a genuine concern in good faith should suffer detrimental treatment for doing so.
